Pickens’ Plan

This blog is not a political blog, but this blog is for America. Whether you are Democrat, Republican or nonpartisan I think we can all agree that we need to reduce our independence on foreign oil. T. Boone Pickens, a famous billionaire oil man from Texas, has headlined an effort with a workable plan to drastically reduce our foreign oil demand. It is said that we import 70% of our oil which is a drastic increase from 30 years ago when it was only 24%. Americans weren’t in such dire need of change before before because oil was so cheap for so long. Now, with $4 a gallon and economic instability throughout America it’s time for change.

For those of you that are not fans of Pickens, I’m with you. I don’t like his use of imminent domain in Texas or his backing of the Swift Boat Vets during the 2004 election but his plan is solid. In order to show both sides, here is a video against the plan.

This should show that this is a bipartisan effort.  Gore has every right to hate Pickens but even he agrees with the plan.
