The credit card industry is robust but it’s getting bigger. Recently, though the competition is getting fierce. Evidence of this would be that most companies are willing to take customers back even after they have had a charge off account or two. This should come as no surprise seeing that they give credit cards to college kids with no incomes and illegal immigrants that charge on them and leave the country.

However, as a debtor this plays to your advantage. Most credit card companies are now requiring their collection agencies to be more assertive instead of aggressive. The brow-beaters are now replaced by the arbitrator. Certainly, there are still some “fossils” even in my office that think its their duty to make someone “feel like trash” and or a dishonest person.

As I state every day I never think someone just wakes up and doesn’t want to pay their bills. You have to remember the that these companies are all about making money. As long as you feed them money they will treat you like gold(i.e. higher limits, points etc). When you don’t its (bad credit, harassment & garnishment). Pay your bills!
